Milan Tattoo Convention

Last week I went to the Milan Tattoo Convention where you can see many tattoo artists' work and their method of doing it.

This was especially interesting for me since I don't know anything about tattoos.

This picture is a traditional tribal method of using needle and a light hammer like material to pound the ink into the skin.




I loved the design of this one on this man's back. Done by a Japanese artist with a machine.

This is a picture of a traditional Japanese method of using only needle and ink. No machine.
One by one they fill in the colours feeling the thickness of the skin.
When you tattoo by hand, it usually last longer and the colour stays beautiful longer since they can tell the precise depth of where to put the ink by hand.

This is the master of Horitoshi Family, very famous tattoo artists in japan.
I had the chance to speak with him and his assistant personally and they were very very very nice!
If I were to get a tattoo, I would only get it from him.
They're ink on their body was beautiful also.
It's the indigo navy blue that they called "black" that made me fall in love with the beauty of Japanese Ink. You can see their work on their website!!

Meeting for new collection of shoes

Soon to be imported from India but it needs a lot of work done in order to sell in the Italian market!!

First if all Italians like it very sexy when it comes to choosing shoes but also it must be very practical to wear (the word practical must be underlined... TWICE)
There sure are many fashionistas in this city where they love to wear special pieces but it must always come WITH quality. Most of the fashionistas here do know quality, therefore it's not just about the crazy designs smushed into one item (like I saw the ones today...) but it's about the harmony of chic design and quality. You can't just raise the price and thinking you can put it in boutiques like la rinascente...! JUST SAYIN'

Color Palette

Picture taken from my kitchen window. Only if I can show you digitally how the colors looked to me through my own eyes. The camera portrays it differently but you get the idea.

The beige wall, deep sky blue, the purple tinted reflection of the windows from the solar light, the green window shutters but the colors ranges due to the material it is made from - forest green big window shutters made from wood, bluish tinted green balcony roof made from vinyl, the small window shutters which are emerald green.
I was eating brunch and saw this looking out my window. I thanked my eyes for noticing such a great real life color palette.
Next design I will put this on my source board for the next color scheme!!

Milan Men's Fashion Week

I am horrible with updating blogs... please forgive me.
I had tickets to go see fashion shows. Enjoy the pictures!

ファッションショーのチケットが知り合いからもらえたたためいけました！


First I went to the show of CARLOPIGNATELLIOUTSIDE (name too long to remember...)
There were supposedly many famous people there getting interviewed by television, but of course I didn't recognize any so didn't bother taking pictures of them. But my Italian friend was going crazy and taking zoomed up pictures of them across the big runway... Well... I guess I better learn my Italian celebrities...? meh.

ファッションショー初日にCARLOPIGNATELLIOUTSIDE （という長すぎる名前）のショーへいきました。
たくさんイタリアの有名人がいたようでしたが私にはただの美人なイタリア人にしか見えず…　イタリア人の友達は一生懸命ランウェイの反対側からカメラでズームして写真を撮ってたけどあたしにはさっぱり。なんか一人有名な女性が遅れて入ってきてその人のためだけにショーを始めるのを遅らせており、パパラッチがイタリア語で「目覚ましつけとけ！！！」と大声で会場に響き渡るように叫び、会場はドッと笑い暗転してショーが始まったとさ♪
服は全体的にボリュームが大きいものが印象的で、雪山の登山男というイメージ。
大きなマフラーやざっくざっくと音をたてるようなブーツが市場ウケには良さそうと感じた。プリーツの入ったスカートをスキニーパンツの上に着ていたのも印象的だったが初めて見た！という新鮮度はなかった。アバンギャルドな男の子達にはギリうけるかもしれないが、全体的にミラノでの男性はスカートは早すぎると思う。もう少し腰巻感覚っぽくプリーツの入ったようではなければより市場にいきわたりやすいかも...?　あと私が好きだったのはグレンチェックの使ったスーツ！でも上下同じグレンチェックではなくさりげなくジャケットとパンツは別織りのグレンチェックをうまく組み合わせてあったと思う。

ただ少し気になったのがスーツの袖山のプレスが強すぎたせいか山布がくっきりと遠くから照明でぴカーンと光っており、だれかアイロンの下手な人が全部焦ってプレスしたのかなと思った。
まっどこもショー前は大変だよね。

写真のクオリティーが低くて申し訳ない…また今度iphoneだけに頼らずちゃんとしたカメラを持っていきます…！

次のひにいったのが Daniele Alessandrini　というイタリアンブランド。
モデルはスタイル良いせいか７分丈のパンツが良かったが、男性みんながみんな足首を見せられるのか？？足首だけだったらいいかもしれないがこちらは足首だけというかんじではなくふくらはぎがちょうど終わるくらいのとこという微妙な長さの丈だった。黒い薄いソックスが見えてオシャレをはかどれるかもしれないが冬にはどうなんだろう…全体的に冬を甘く見てるという服が多かったかも…（例えば透けてるニットとかファーヴぇストを脇でリボン止めしているとか？？肌見せ！！）
でも普通にかっこいいスーツが多かった！こちらもグレンチェックをうまく使いこなしてた！

Men in Italy　の写真店。バイヤーかプレスパスを持っている人しか入れなかった割にはあんまり素晴らしい！！っていう展示会でもなかった。
写真のクオリティーは確かに高かったが、一般人もタダで入れてもいいじゃん。っと思った。

最後にgiuliano fujiwara の展示！ショーではなかったからより近くでジックリ作品が見られた！
けど５時間ぶっ続けでモデルは立ってたのでかわいそうだった。
しかも少し下品目なアジア人パイヤーがモデルをマネキンのように扱い、中のディテールやポケットとかを細かくチェックしててモデルさんかわいそうだった。
ディテールとかコートの中とかをちぇっくするのはいいが、マネキンじゃないんだからもうちょっと丁寧に一言かけてやったらちゃんとあけてくれるのに…
giuliano fujiwara のデザイナーにも話すことができてとても光栄だった。
彼はやはりコンセプトを意識してい、遠めからみるとクラシックなミラノスタイルのメンズだがよーくみるとコートの端は裁ちっぱなし。ポケットがいろんなとこに隠れてる。パターンで遊んでる。という遊び感覚が私のツボを突っついた。
展示場も素敵なとこでやってい、ドリンクも飲める感じのとこでとても楽しく見せてもらった。
帰りしなにもgiuliano fujiwaraのレーベルがついたマフラーもくれた。マフラーといってもただあまりウール布をロックミシンでほつれない様にしてgiuliano fujiwara made in italyというタグを付けただけだがなんか価値観を感じてしまう。
やはりブランド力は大事ですね。　ただの布をタグひとつでスペシャルに変えてしまう！
